In 2020 I started making and selling (mostly on instagram) small bags and especially a lot of face masks in my super tiny home in The Hague. I made everything on an old sewing machine that my mom gave me. The fabric I work with I mainly find in second-hand shops, markets or through friends, which can also be curtains, bed covers or clothing. I also bought fabrics from stores that were dealing with a dead-stock. As a result, my fabrics are 100% recycled and less waste.

In 2021 I decided to officially set up my own atelier. I rented a studio in Scheveningen with the most beautiful garden. This is the place where I go every day by bicycle and where I create all the things that makes me happy. I still make my ceramics at home and bake them at an external location. Until now I do not work with a large stock. I literally can't work with a large stock either, since I work with vintage and recycled fabrics of which there is always only a limited amount. 

I bought the unpainted silks second hand in order to delay the new production of silk. It's a wonderful product but unfortunately it's a deadly process for the caterpillars, so I would never purchase this fabric new.

I make almost all my products per order or on custom made request to waste as little as possible. Each product I have made myself, or with my mom, and has passed through my hands with love. 

When an order is ready, I pack it in recycled boxes and envelopes obtained from another online shop that no longer needed them. If you live near one of my pick-up locations, you can pick up your order yourself. You can also choose the option 'local delivery’ which means that I’ll deliver your order by bicycle. All this for less CO2 emissions and a better planet.

It's so nice to realise that the things I like are also sustainable and help with a zero waste policy. Even if it's just a little bit, every little bit helps and with this I hope to make people realise that it doesn't have to be that difficult to live conscious and help the planet.
